Valley Morning Start Spotlight: Attention to detail: Ida Hagg

For Ida Hagg, what started with a package to her son in Bosnia soon turned into a national movement.  Today, Adopt a Platoon sends tens of thousands of care packages to U.S. troops across the globe.  From a warehouse in Lozano, the former Rio Hondo High School teacher launched an organization that’s grown into one of the largest grassroots supporters of America’s service men and women.

After her son joined the Army in 1997, Hagg mailed a care package to him in the mountains of Bosnia.  “He started writing me letters,” she said.
